About the Bodegas Murviedro
These wineries have a long history. The Schenk family founded the first winery more than 100 years ago in Switzerland by Arnold Schenk, who inherited his passion for wine and the land from his father. Since then, this family-owned company has founded several companies in Europe and has become a unique company in the world of wine.
Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Benelux, United Kingdom and Spain are the places where they have settled. And in our country Requena is the enclave where these extraordinary wineries are located. Right at the foot of the vineyards, in the heart of the Denomination of Origin Utiel-Requena, producer of excellent quality wines.
These wineries, formerly called the Bodegas Schenk in honour of the family that created them, were renamed the Bodegas Murviedro in 2002. The change took place on the occasion of their 75th anniversary and they were named after their wine Cavas Murviedro, one of the most emblematic wine brands in the Valencian Community.
The visit to the Bodegas Murviedro for owners
A place as special as this deserves to be visited. For this reason CHG organizes a tour for the owners of properties to get to know it first hand.
At 10 o’clock we pick up the participants with a bus that takes us to Requena, where the Bodegas Murviedro is located, and on arrival at the village we visit the Silk Museum. After this we go to the old wineries. During a guided tour we get to know about the history of Requena and how the wine was preserved. A real wonder! After the tour we have a tasting of the Murviedro varieties accompanied by Iberian aperitif. And, finally, we enjoy a delicious meal where we can taste typical dishes of the area accompanied, of course, the best wines of the company. At 5 pm, after a unique experience, the bus picks us up and takes us back to Oliva Nova.
