Oliva Nova, Valencia
We couldn’t start this list any other way. Oliva Nova is a real paradise. And we don’t say this just because we are fond of it, but because it has everything you need to spend a few wonderful days (and even a dream life on the shores of the Mediterranean). Why? Because it has a spectacular beach of more than 10 km, it has restaurants with the most delicious proposals for the palate, it is a perfect place to practice all kinds of sports (among them golf since the course of Oliva Nova, with 18 holes and designed by Severiano Ballesteros, is one of the best in the Costa Blanca) and also to relax (with the treatments of the spa center of the resort). Come on, it is an ideal place for those who are looking for tranquility as well as for those who like to move around.
Jávea, Alicante
Just half an hour from Oliva Nova, in the province of Alicante, is Jávea, another of the most visited destinations in the Valencian Community. A town with a lot of tourist offer ideal to spend a few days and even to go for a day trip if you live or stay in Oliva. Among the most outstanding places in this area is Cala de Portixol, a small cove full of charm that reminds us of some of the most special prints of the Greek islands with their white fishermen’s houses and doors painted in blue. Without a doubt, the ideal place for fans of Instagram. It also has other coves such as Blanca or Granadella, also very special and great to enjoy a day at the beach.
Isla de Tabarca, Alicante
It is the only inhabited island in the Valencian community, and it is very charming. This is not Ibiza, but its crystal clear waters are no worse than those of the Pityusic island. Located a few kilometers from Santa Pola, it has about 60 residents in winter (although in summer it is more crowded due to the visits of tourists), and can be reached by boat (they depart daily from Alicante or Santa Pola).
Valencia city
Do you know Valencia? And if you have already visited this city, do you know it well? Sometimes we have been to cities but when they ask us what we know about them we don’t know very well how to answer. If this happens to you with Valencia, there are three places that you have to go on your next trip. The first is “The City of Arts and Sciences”. Yes, I’m sure you’ve passed by or stopped to have your photo taken, but have you really visited this place to discover it? The second is Columbus Market, an obligatory stop for a good meal in a fun atmosphere (it is right in the centre and is one of the most emblematic buildings in the city). And finally the Barrio del Carmen, a hidden area in the old town full of restaurants and shops to stroll through.
Altea, Alicante
Altea is a key direction if you like charming villages. It is located in Alicante and its old town, on top of a hill and overlooking the sea, is absolutely beautiful. Its streets, most of them with cobbled floors and little white houses, are like a fairy tale. Walking through them is a real delight. Another pleasure is the gastronomic offers from restaurants in Altea.
